UK to US Bra Size Conversion

UK to US bra size conversion is the simplest of all the systems because the band numbers are identical. A UK 34 band is the same as a US 34 band — no calculation needed. Cup letters match for A through D. After D, the UK and US systems diverge: a UK DD may be labelled DD or E in the US, a UK E becomes a US DDD or F, and so on. The cup chart above shows the exact mapping for each letter.

One practical note: American bra brands (Victoria's Secret, ThirdLove, Wacoal US) tend to max out at a US DDD (UK E) in mainstream lines. For larger cups, specialist brands or UK imports are usually the better source.

UK to EU Bra Size Conversion

UK to EU bra size conversion involves two changes. Bands: EU sizes use centimetres, measured from your actual underbust, rounded to the nearest 5. The conversion table is straightforward: UK 28 = EU 60, UK 30 = EU 65, UK 32 = EU 70, UK 34 = EU 75, UK 36 = EU 80, and up. Cups: A through D are the same in both systems. After D, the UK uses double letters (DD, E, F, FF, G, GG) while EU uses single letters only (E, F, G, H, I, J, K).

So a UK 34DD becomes an EU 75E, and a UK 36FF becomes an EU 80H. The full chart above handles all these conversions automatically. For a dedicated guide with a complete chart, see our UK to European bra size page.

UK to Australian Bra Size Conversion

UK to Australian bra size conversion is the easiest of all: they are identical. UK 34D = Australian 34D. Band numbers and cup letters are the same in both countries. The only caveat is brand-specific sizing — some Australian-specific brands may fit differently from their label, so always check individual brand reviews if ordering from Australia.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert a UK bra size to US?+

UK and US band numbers are identical (UK 34 = US 34). Cup letters are also the same up to D. After D, they diverge: a UK DD is a US DD, a UK E is a US DDD or F, a UK F is a US F or G. Use our converter above for the exact mapping for your specific size.

How do I convert a UK bra size to EU?+

EU band sizes are your underbust measurement in centimetres, rounded to the nearest 5. The easiest rule: UK 28 = EU 60, UK 30 = EU 65, UK 32 = EU 70, UK 34 = EU 75, and so on (add 5 EU cm per UK band size up). For cups: A–D are the same in both systems. After D, the UK uses double letters (DD, FF, GG) while EU uses single letters (E, F, G, H, I, J, K).

Are UK and Australian bra sizes the same?+

Yes, UK and Australian bra sizes use the same band numbers and cup letters. A UK 34D and an Australian 34D are the same size. The only difference to be aware of is that some Australian retailers use their own brand-specific sizing, so always check the individual brand.

What is a UK 34D in French sizing?+

A UK 34D is a FR 90D in French sizing. French bands are 15 higher than EU bands (UK 34 = EU 75 = FR 90). Cup letters follow the EU progression, so A–D are the same in French sizing too.

Do I need to convert cup letters as well as band size?+

It depends on the cup. For A, B, C, and D, most international systems use the same letters. Problems arise after D: UK uses DD, E, F, FF, G, GG; EU skips doubles and goes E, F, G, H, I, J; US may use DDD for a UK E. Always check the cup column in the converter for your specific letter.
